CONGRATULATIONS CHLOE ZHAO ON BECOMING THE FIRST WOMAN OF COLOR TO WIN BEST DIRECTOR!
We are excited to share that Oscars 2021 saw firsts for diversity in many supporting categories! Chloe Zhao is the first woman of color (and second woman overall) to win best director at the Oscars. Additionally, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom's Mia Neal and Jamika Wilson are the first Black winners in makeup and hairstyling andTwo Distant Strangers' Travon Free became the first Black winner in the Best Live-Action Short Category. We love seeing these groundbreaking achievements but recognize that there is much more work to do!
