Entrepreneur Katy Wallin launched the award-winning, multifaceted casting and production company, MysticArt Pictures. Under her leadership, the company has become an innovative force in the entertainment industry. With a fierce commitment to creating visionary and innovative projects, Katy has successfully completed over 800 hours of television programming and over 75 feature films and unscripted television shows. She has been featured on Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, Extra, MTV, Entertainment Weekly, People Magazine, LA Times, New York Times, and several other national television shows and publications.
When Katy expanded MysticArt to include an unscripted television department, the company quickly earned a reputation for being one of the most established and well respected in the industry. Katy has had the privilege of working with almost every major broadcast and cable network including ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, HBO, MTV, Lifetime, Bravo, TLC, and E! Entertainment. This led to casting projects such as the hit television series WIPEOUT (Season 1-3), Dating in the Dark, The Mole, How to Look Good Naked, Top Design, and Nanny 911, just to name a few. Because of her extensive network and relationships with talent, Katy has further expanded by creating, developing, and packaging new television content and providing production services to networks and other production companies. She recently created and executive produced a real life romantic comedy Welcome to the Family. She partnered with media mogul Reveille Entertainment and the late Bernie Mac to produce the pilot for NBC.
With her tenacious approach and believing that anything is possible, Katy built an Equity film fund and produced the award-winning and critically acclaimed independent film, Finder’s Fee. The film stars iconic actor James Earl Jones, Oscar nominated actor Robert Forster, Erik Palladino, Matthew Lillard, and Ryan Reynolds. She partnered with writer/director Jeff Probst. Finder’s Fee was acquired and released by Lions Gate Entertainment. Katy has always had a passion for working on projects that promote positive family values and believes it is important to cherish classic literary achievements through the film medium. She produced the award-winning, time-honored classic Where the Red Fern Grows, starring Dave Matthews, which was released by Walt Disney Studios. Katy recently completed producing Tom Green’s feature film Prankstar.
In addition to having served as the Vice-President of the Casting Society of America, Katy is an active member of organizations such as the Independent Feature Project West and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and cofounder of the Women’s Image Network; a non-profit organization which offers development money to those who create projects for film and television which depict women in a more positive light.
